I have spent the majority of my career working as a musculoskeletal specialist within the NHS, and this is where I developed a love of all things pelvic health and had some fantastic clinical mentorship alongside a pelvic health specialist for many years – and to this day she remains my fabulous clinical mentor!
I have always felt that to get the real, lasting benefits from physiotherapy the only thing you really need is TIME. I fell out of love with my job for a long time because it overwhelmed me; being a therapist takes a huge emotional toll and this was only being reinforced by the fact I felt people were missing out on my help due to a lack of time. I had a long hard think about what was going to make me love being a physio again. Enter the amazing Jack Howard and Spiral Health, and the partnership was born!
With Mummy MOT Warwickshire, your Mummy MOT lasts 90 minutes. It really flies by; we have so much to cover together! From your medical screening and obstetric history, chatting about your goals, barriers and fears, hearing about your birth stories, and working out a way to help you manage your symptoms / rehabilitate from what youโve been through in a way that will suit your lifestyle; all of this alongside the comprehensive movement screening, muscle testing, diastasis and abdominal examination, and pelvic floor assessment. You receive a report summarising all of the findings, what this means for you and a detailed management plan for you to follow, as well as a personalised exercise program โ all of which you receive by the next working day.
So what makes me different is simple; quality time to get to know you, your body, and help you understand what to change and develop, what to focus on for best results; no new mother has time to spend hours on exercise a day. I understand this and make it workable FOR YOU. Thatโs why itโs lovely being able to do the assessments at your homes; it gives me much more insight into the practical challenges you might face and helps me understand you better.
It brings me so much joy and satisfaction to be able to improve postnatal care (at least in my little corner of the world) and being part of your journeys is a privilege. THANK YOU!
